How does one forget they have a day off from work? Honestly no idea, but if you saw my stories yesterday you know my suddenly free day was not idly wasted. No, this girl cleaned up the laundry room - returned many things to their rightful home, purged, and tweaked my systems. What would you do with an unexpected day all to yourself? Creativity and occupied children is my self care. So for #selfcaresunday I did a little DIY #ikeahack and upgraded the kids play kitchen (all the details in stories). This is part of a bigger kids "stuff" cleanout starting with the playroom. With 3 kids I have learned this - less truly is more. If you have a million toys laying around they will eventually pick up and play with everything. Don't let that fool you into thinking they want or need it all! If you took half of it away they really don't miss it. When editing toys think about their interests, age, and condition. When the noise is cleared out and a smaller curated collection is left, just sit back and watch their excitment. .
