Have you ever had dinner plans only to realize it should have been marinating all day, sitting in the crockpot, or needs an hour worth of prep? Dinner ruined. I do this far more often than I’d like to admit. To prevent the same tragedy from happening at a big family gathering I created a holiday meal planning sheet.
The planner helps map out exactly what is required for each dish and I threw in a shopping list as well (divided by store section of course). Start by listing the menu items from appetizers through dessert. Then decide where it’s coming from. Is a guest bringing it or is it store bought, can be made in advance, or are you cooking it the day of? If you’re cooking it the day of write down time needed to thaw, prep time, cooking time, and oven temperature. Add up the time needed and see which items can share oven space by comparing the cooking temps. Writing it all down will help plan out your day so you know when it’s time to get started.

I can’t guarantee it will be any good, but at least Thanksgiving dinner will be served on time this year! Download your very own holiday meal planning sheet and shopping list {here}.
