The year got weird absurdly quick with stay-at-home orders, social distancing, and home schooling. While we’re all scrambling to set up an effective home school situation let’s take a moment and make it multi-purpose. This home schooling gig isn’t going to last forever (hopefully) but a dedicated place for studying, creating, learning and kids craft storage can be a wonderful addition to your home – especially if it blends seamlessly with your adult decor tastes too. Creative and stylish storage solutions can be pulled out for use at a nearby table or desk and then easily put away.

1. Shelving
Simple white cube shelving is versatile, provides structure, and goes with most any decor. When planning for kids items be sure to consider height and reachability.
2. Structured Bins
These multi-purpose bins are one of my favorite products. Use them here in a variety of sizes for storing paper, activity books, and craft sets.
3. Handled Totes
Handled totes, like these striped storage cubes (similar linked above), work well for storing things like books, games, and puzzles.
4. Charging Station
A charging station for all of the devices is a must to keep cords organized and out of the way. Try a device stand for single devices or a charging hub for multiples.
5. Wall System
Go vertical and use the wall space for notes, doodling, artwork display, and supply storage. I like these wall units for there versatility and color options.
6. Decorative Cannisters
Adding grown up accents to a kid space keeps the style of your home consistent and ensures their use for years to come. These slanted canisters not only look pretty but can be used to hold crayons, ribbon, washi tape, and any other small loose items.
7. Utility Cart
Utility carts are super handy for taking your supplies wherever you need to go. They come in a variety of colors and storage can be customized to fit your needs, here are a few ideas:
- Top Tier: Tall cup storage for sorting markers, pencils, and brushes (6 of these will fit perfectly).
- Middle Tier: Divided tray for scissors, glue, and other odds and ends along with 4×6 photo cases to hold card games and craft supplies.
- Bottom Tier: Handled tray for paints.
Remember to have fun with it – kids craft storage can be as imaginative as it is organized. Want to see more organization ideas for the family? Check out these 5 storage solutions for games.
