Do you have 30 minutes to spare and in need of kitchen organization? Then this is the project for you.
Those deep lower cabinets can hold a lot of items, but that doesn’t mean they should. The more you cram in there the less likely you are to use any of it. Why? You forget what you have, it’s hard to access, and most likely you don’t even need most of it. In order to tackle one of my problem cabinets I partnered with Sutherland’s to show you a quick and easy project with a big impact.

The first step to any organizing project is to pull everything out of the space and sort into items that are staying and items that are going.
We’ve lived in our current home for 9 years and, like most families, we’ve accumulated many things and gone through many changes over the years. This cabinet is a reflection of that. It houses mostly bulky and seldom used kitchen items. During the sorting process some of the things I parted ways with were a flour sifter, immersion blender, serving dishes, and a large bowl for handing out Halloween candy (totally unnecessary), while a punch bowl was relocated to our party supplies in the basement.
After a wipe down I installed some Hardware Resources pull-out wire baskets from Sutherland’s. The box advertised “11 minutes or less” but I was able to put in 4 of these in 10 minutes. These are great to be able to access items in the back without moving things around and keep multi-component appliances together.
In under 30 minutes I was able to minimize and organize a kitchen cabinet. Mission accomplished.
